Kodiak Community Foundation Launches Legacy 25 Fundraising A Three-Year Giving Initiative

Kodiak Community Foundation (KCF), an Affiliate of The Alaska Community Foundation (ACF), is seeking 25 individuals, families, or businesses to become Legacy 25 Donors. Becoming a Legacy 25 Donor involves making a commitment to gift $1,000 to the Kodiak Community Foundation endowment each year for three years.

Why the specific numbers?

KCF is currently eligible for a generous 1:1 match up to $25,000 each year through a partnership with ACF and Rasmuson Foundation. This means that for every $25,000 we receive in donations, an additional $25,000 will be invested into our fund, adding a total of $50,000 each year. This program will run through 2020, meaning we have three years left to potentially invest $150,000 into our community endowment.

As a Legacy 25 Donor, you will be making a commitment to our Foundation to ensure the annual match requirement is met and that our $150,000 goal is achieved.

As with any donation to KCF, each dollar helps build our endowment and creates a legacy of nonprofit and community support now and into the future. Our endowment is a permanent charitable fund for the Kodiak region, one that generates annual interest to be granted out to local organizations without ever touching the principal investment. Our vision for Kodiak is to fully engage our island community in generous giving to gain self-reliance and growing support for causes that matter.

If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about or becoming a Legacy 25 donor, please reach out to KCF Program Manager, Brianna Gibbs, at bgibbs@alaskacf.org.
